Trim is what makes a laminate floor look finished. It also covers the expansion gap, which is why it matters as much as the planks.
At the walls, we either reinstall your existing base or put in new baseboard. If the base stays, we add quarter round or shoe molding to cover the 1/4 to 3/8 inch gap. Trim gets nailed to the wall, never to the floor, so the floor can still move.
At doorways we set a T-molding where laminate meets laminate across a long run, or where it meets tile or another floor at the same height. A reducer steps down to thinner flooring. An end cap finishes against a slider track or a fireplace hearth.
We undercut door jambs and casing with a jamb saw so the plank slides under the trim. That looks far cleaner than cutting the plank around the casing and caulking the gap. Doors often need a trim off the bottom after the floor goes in, and we handle that too. Paint-grade base is primed and ready for your painter, or we can bring a pre-finished white. Trim is included in every whole house laminate flooring quote.
